Hospice Provides Hope: Stories About Hospice

When people are being treated for their illness, they may hope for cure, for end of pain, or for a return to an active life. Hope, goals for care and expectations change with progression of illness. Patients and families seek to maintain hope as illness progresses. False hope may deflect from other important issues. When patients enter Hospice, hope is transformed as patients have an opportunity for growth and life closure, finding meaning in their life and healing of relationships. In this section, we wish to share some stories from work with hospice families that honor their efforts to find meaning, faith, and love.
