Due to the significant change in procedures and decision-making standards set forth in the Family Health Care Decisions Act (FHCDA), the legal requirements to withhold and/or withdraw life-sustaining treatment have changed.  As a result, these changes are integrated into the MOLST Process.  This has raised many questions among professionals.  Printable PDF of MOLST FAQs.

These questions and answers were prepared in consultation with the New York State Department of Health (April 2012). 

Patients, families and persons who make decisions on behalf of those who have lost the ability to decide often have questions about MOLST.
